Chrome sculpture ”Car Mascot’’ is made in commission as a car mascot for a Buick 1928. The mascot depicts a very streamlined woman who gives the impression to arise into flight. Her arms flow into a cape, underlining her heroic nature. In order to achieve the aerodynamic effect, the sculpture was first made in bronze, then polished to an extremely smooth finish, and subsequently chromed. Had the Buick owner also owned a ship, he would have enlarged the mascot 10 times to use as figurehead.
